Project STIR

Project STIR stands for Steps Toward Independence and Responsibility

Individuals can learn how to be a self-advocate.

The program will teach you how to:

  • Communicate your wants and needs effectively
  • Solve problems
  • Negotiate
  • Be part of the community

You will learn these skills through hands-on activities, role playing, small group discussions and more. After you complete the program, there will be regular opportunities to meet with other STIR participants to review and build upon your skills. The next training dates are October 27th and 28th 9:30-2:30 at 2550 Ada Rd Lima, OH 45801.

Once you have completed the STIR training, you are part of the “Just Do It Crew”. The Just Do It Crew meets every 2 months to discuss using the tools you have learned. The Just Do It Crew meeting dates are set for July 19, September 16 and November 18. The time and location can vary so call for more information.
