FANs Network

FANs Network ACBDD

A FANs Network is a group of people who are committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

We are always looking for people to join our FANs Network! There’s no official commitment or formal membership. If you want to be a part of our network, we just add you to the email list. (Or you can join our Facebook Group.) You’ll hear about different volunteer opportunities – like helping people move, playing disc golf, and more – and you decide what you want to be a part of. Our FANS help the community in a variety of ways, both big and small. We believe the journey of life is better when people support each other.

If you would like to add your email to the FANS list, contact Tammy DeLong at 419-221-1385 ext. 1008 or tdelong@acbdd.org, or Trois Parker at ext. 2254 or tparker@acbdd.org

Some of our FANs initiatives include:

Partnering with Pals is an opportunity to build a friendship with a person, based on your common hobbies. We have pals who sew together, garden together, or just hang out!

We host a quarterly Game Night in the community, and anyone is welcome! Attendees play board games and enjoy snacks, which are both provided.

The Flying Saucers Disc Golf Club meets monthly to play disc golf at Ottawa Metro Park. Beginners and experienced disc golfers are welcome!

The Give Back Crew volunteers at different community events and causes throughout Allen County.

The Caring Craftsmen help with home repairs for individuals with disabilities and their families.

Making A House A Home volunteers help individuals with disabilities who are moving into the community or into their own places for the first time. They donate household items, help move furniture, or even provide home-cooked meals.
(Here’s a list of some of the most commonly needed items!)

The Creative Cardmaking Club meets monthly to hand-make greeting cards. These cards are delivered to people around Allen County, offering well wishes or sympathy.

Our StryKO Boxing Class meets monthly at Anytime Fitness Lima. It can help you build muscles and get fit, while spending time with individuals with disabilities.

Working Wonders is a group of people who want to learn about work. They volunteer at different nonprofits, learning new skills and roles.
