Marimor Legacy Foundation

The foundation’s first major project was raising $1.3 million to build two new All Ability Playgrounds in Allen County. The playground at Allen County Board of D.D. is pictured above.

The purpose of the Marimor Legacy Foundation is to benefit and support activities and services provided by Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The foundation achieves this by raising funds for special projects and initiatives that will enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities in Allen County. Recent projects include fundraising for two All Ability Playgrounds in Allen County, a Butterfly Memorial Garden to honor the lives of people with developmental disabilities, and a Special Needs fund to help people in unique situations.

Planned Giving
You can make a bequest through your will or name the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities as the beneficiary in a life insurance policy.

End of Year Giving
Give a gift of appreciated securities. The benefits of giving stocks and bonds include avoiding paying capital gains tax and receiving an itemized charitable income tax deduction.

If you are 70.5 or older, you are required to take a minimum distribution from your traditional IRA. By giving this distribution as a direct charitable donation, you can avoid paying taxes on it. Also, this may avoid increased taxes on your Social Security income.
